What to look for in a budget laptop

  • Processor: For Word, Excel, browsing and online classes, an Intel Core i3/Core 3, Ryzen 3 or better is enough. If you run many apps at once, edit photos or code, choose an 8-core chip such as the Intel Core i5-13420H or Core 5 210H.
  • Storage: Always pick an SSD. 512GB is the comfortable size; 256GB fills up quickly once Windows updates and your files pile up.
  • RAM: Every laptop in this guide has 8GB, which is fine for office and study work. Check the product page to see whether RAM can be upgraded later.
  • Screen: An IPS panel with 300 nits is noticeably brighter than a 250-nit screen. WUXGA (1920×1200) screens give you a little more vertical space than Full HD.
  • Warranty: Prefer a direct local warranty, so repairs are handled in Pakistan. Each product page states the warranty type.
  • Windows: Some models ship with Windows 11 Home and some with DOS. The product page lists the operating system for each model.
