The M111a includes HP’s Auto On/Off Technology, which saves energy by reducing excessive run time. It reads when paper is fed into the tray, and a command has been issued. Then, the print process automatically begins. It stops almost instantly as soon as it's done or when it senses the empty paper feeder. Even in standby mode, it does not use up a lot of electricity and keeps power consumption around the office at a minimum.
